Just when you thought it was over, just when you thought we were done, we did it again! Clearly, this is not a reference to Metallica’s massive hit song “We Did it Again”, or is it? Well, the truth is we love heavy metal and the resemblance is uncanny, especially when considering the success that Social Innovation Academy project noted. The good news is that the project will not rest on its laurels, as the new consortium is determined to take the Academy to a whole new place.

So, where do we stand? Limitless, after successfully leading the project for two years (with the support of the representatives of 4 partner organisations: ICAN, We4You, Found.ation and Eolas), has led the new project proposal to a win.

We held the kick-off of Social Innovation Academy 2.0 on October 3rd in Luxembourg, launching the new project with the new consortium partners. Social Innovation Academy 2.0 will focus on the art of collaboration, as Limitless teamed up with Impact Hub, Sinnergiak Social Innovation and We4You. We are so thrilled to announce our new team and we cannot wait to bring even more results for the Academy and generate tons of positive publicity for people successfully solving pressing societal challenges, small and large.

Why this collaboration can and will thrive? The proposed strategic partnership brings together partners of the highest calibre: Limitless will be supported by Impact Hub, representing the largest network of impact changemakers in the world, Sinnergiak Social Innovation (UPV/EHU), one of the top social innovation academic and VET organisations in Europe and the co-founder of SIC (SocialInnovation Community), and We4You with who we have successfully collaborated in SOCIA.

Transnational Meeting Highlights

  1. Social Innovation Academy 2.0 objectives are set. This is the perfect timing to further invest in social innovation education and training, especially as the current VET offer remains far below what (aspiring) social innovators need, as shown by our previous project’s mapping of 30+ programmes in EU and their juxtaposition with identified learners’ needs.
  2. Expected target audience and target impact were investigated. Social Innovation Academy 2.0 envisions to create local, regional, national, European and international impact as there is a great potential for social innovation training across the globe.
  3. Reflecting upon the launch of a new call for co-creators. The consortium plans the launch of an upcoming call for social innovation co-creators who can demonstrate expertise in one or more of the social innovation trends. Their input will aid in bringing a change in the way aspiring social innovators approach the design and implementation of social innovation initiatives, as well being an excellent opportunity for contributors to illustrate their insights and work for the common greater good.

Stay tuned for more exciting news from the Social Innovation Academy 2.0!
